The Parable of the Sower

Mark 4
3 Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:
4 And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.
5 And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:
6 But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.
7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.
8 And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.
9 And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
10 And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.
11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.
13 And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?
14 The sower soweth the word.
15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.
16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;
17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.
18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,
19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

The seed is the Word of God and you sow it in your heart by reading the Word to yourself out loud with faith!

Luke 8
5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.
6 And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.
7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.
8 And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
9 And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?
10 And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.
11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

Matthew 13
3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.
19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;
21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.
22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

God bless,

Lydia Prince

A brief timeline of Lydia (Christensen) Prince’s journey to Israel:

Lydia was born March 8, 1890 in Bronderslev, Denmark. In December 1926 her “suitor” proposed marriage and she couldn’t accept, needing an answer to a question in her heart, “Is there something more to life than just a career, nice apartment, furniture … and a pension?” She went home for Christmas and learned her father had expressed the same sentiments the last couple years of his life.

When she returned to Korsor after Christmas break (January 3, 1927), she began reading the bible the next day and was born again, (that is when she prayed and told God, “if you will show me Jesus as a living reality I will follow him” and Jesus appeared to her.) In February she was baptized in the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues and that night God showed her the vision of the woman and men in middle eastern dress, and at the end of February she was baptized in water by immersion.

In August (while on summer break) she visited Pentecostal churches in Sweden and on her last night before returning to Denmark, she listened to a missionary speak, and along with other things, he shared about the hospital they were building in the Congo. As he was talking, she heard God tell her, “You have money to help him.” She had received her bank statement just prior to leaving for Sweden, and it was equivalent to about $3000 U.S. dollars. She shared with him and his wife after the meeting what she believed God was telling her: to give money for his hospital and also her vision about people in different dress. He told her they had been to the Holy Land and saw people dressed as she described. When she returned home, she immediately withdrew all her inheritance ($3000) and sent it to him. She began to earnestly seek God’s plan for her and “…almost against my will I began to turn my attention that direction [Israel].”

She spent weeks praying, by October and November, her heart was changing, and there was love in her heart towards people in Israel she didn’t even know. In December, in a prayer meeting with the Pentecostal group where she attended, God gave her the vision of a baby girl’s face, in a box. She came to believe God was directing her to Jerusalem but hesitant to actually turn in her resignation.

Over Easter weekend of the next year (1928), she listened to a missionary from China, talked to him after he finished speaking, explaining to him what she believed God was telling her and voiced her hesitation to him. He said, “Sister Christensen, Denmark is full of spiritual cripples who have heard the call of God but were afraid to step out in faith. Don’t you be one of them.” She wrote out her resignation that night.

In a missionary magazine published in Sweden, she saw the address of a Swedish lady who lived in Jerusalem, Ida Gustafsson. She wrote to tell her she was coming to Jerusalem. Gustafsson wrote back and agreed to meet her on Lydia’s arrival. Lydia spent the last few days before she left for Jerusalem with her mother and her mother told her a story about when Lydia was five, had pneumonia, she thought they were going to lose her. “I remember standing by your bed one night and telling God that if He would spare your life, you would be His. Perhaps that explains some of the things that have been happening these last two years.” Lydia agreed. She arrived in Tel Aviv October 18, 1928. Miss Gustafsson met her there, with a hired driver and they left for Jerusalem.

Healing Testimonies - The Invisible Things of God

(How God used Derek and Lydia Prince and Bob Mumford to “open my eyes to the word of God.”)

Transcribed and edited from:
Friday July 6, 2018 11:00 AM Livestream Program

Hello, I’m Doyle Davidson, servant and apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ ministering locally to the Body of Christ in Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas, sent by God to your house to declare unto you the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:3 and 4 tell us what the gospel is, how that Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, he was buried, that rose again the third day, according to the scripture.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, sent me to heal the broken hearted, preach deliverance to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, set at liberty them that are bruised.

The word is nigh thee, even in your heart and in your mouth, that is the word of faith which I preach if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God hath raised him from the dead you shall be saved, for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

I’m not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, it is the power of God unto salvation, to everyone that believeth, to the Jew first and also to the Greek, therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith, as it is written, the just shall live by his faith.

I want to welcome everyone receiving this broadcast…

Terre Brown: “I Have Returned”

Doyle: I really didn’t think about this song when I asked Terre this morning if she would sing it. She said, “Sure I will.” I said, “Ok.”

It talks about me returning to the God of my childhood, the Father and Jesus, made known to me from birth—then it talks about, I’ve returned to the God of my mother, the Baptist mother, that told the Lord, “You give me a son, I’ll give him back to you.” And then it talks about the God of my father, the man that told me, for many years, one day I would have to preach the gospel. That’s amazing isn’t it? And sure enough, his prophecies came true. Amen. So, I did what my flesh wanted to for a few years, but in 1969 I had to give it up. I had to do what God planned for me to do. I had to do what my mother wanted me to do, and I had to do what my father said I should do. What can I say? January 2, 1970, I drove away from 121 Veterinary Hospital and the practice that I built. I was sole builder and owner of 121; I built the practice by myself and left as God had said, with one thing, “Obey me.” I didn’t know where I was going. I’m in the forty-eighth year. Do you realize that? [Kathie: Amen] That’s quite awhile, you know that?

I have not departed from what God told me, “Sell it and obey me.” I thought it, but my thinking didn’t run very far back.

In 1970 in Chicago, Illinois, just about the 4th of July, I met Derek and Lydia Prince. Derek and Lydia became good friends for a period of time. I became well acquainted with Derek and Lydia when I moved to Florida to manage a veterinary hospital in Opa-Locka in 1971.

There I met Bob Mumford. I attended some social gatherings with Bob, his wife Judy (I didn’t know her well), but Bob and I talked kind of heart to heart. So now I know Derek Prince, I know Lydia and I know Bob Mumford.

Lydia Prince to me is maybe the most unusual person I’ve ever met. A school teacher that was saved and believed God and trusted God obviously, with her whole heart. I’m not sure how old Lydia was when she went to Israel [Lydia arrived in Israel, October 18, 1928, she was 38 years of age]. She went to Jerusalem. What I remember about Lydia, she contacted someone that had an ad in a newspaper or magazine or something. [Ida Gustafsson]. She wrote them a letter, a letter about coming to Israel, a single woman.

Kathie: And she didn’t know why she was going, why God had her go, till later.

Doyle: Lydia, talking to me on several occasions, impacted my faith in a good way, would you say?

Kathie: Absolutely. The woman had some.

Doyle: She was of great faith, simple childlike faith, like my earthly father; he amazed me how he could believe God.

I asked Dad once, “Did you ever worry?”

“Sure.”

“Well how’d you get it stopped?”

“I just quit.”

“Ya?”

“Well sure, I just decided I wasn’t going to worry anymore.”

Is that amazing?

Kathie: That’s amazing. He had for an ulcer in his stomach for a while, from worrying?

Doyle: He sure did.

Kathie: And the doctor told him he couldn’t eat some of the foods he was eating. He decided one day he was going to have a piece of apple pie a la mode. Right? [Doyle: Right] Which is a no-no if you have a stomach ulcer, and he said, “Well if I die I’ll go to be with Jesus.”

Doyle: With the ulcer. Guess what? He ate it.

Kathie: At a restaurant.

Doyle: Absolutely. Do you know the place he ate that? [Kathie: No.] The house we built in Joplin, the young man’s father was Jesse Long, owned Jesse’s Truck Stop. There was a restaurant there.

Kathie: Oh, it was apple pie a la mode at a truck stop, that’s the best kind of restaurant.

Doyle: That’s where he stopped. Guess what? He didn’t have any ill feelings from it, he didn’t die, he was healed. That easy.

One of the toughest things to handle for me, he got hit in the jaw with and inch and a quarter in diameter, five-foot bar. It hit him in the jaw, the mandible, the bone you can feel with your finger, thumb and he went to a physician, who had an office in Branson and Forsyth. And the physician examined it and said, “I believe your jaw is broken.” The break was the width of a pencil. The physician asked him, “Do you want me to get an ambulance?

“No.” He had to go to Branson. Dad said, “I’ll drive.”

Kathie: How far away was it?

Doyle: Twelve to fifteen miles I think. So what did he do? Gets in his pickup, talks to Jesus, gets to Branson. If I remember, the physicians name was Threadgill. He x-rays Dad’s jaw and says, “Lyle there is a hairline, there, where something broke. I’m not going to do a thing for it.” God healed it on the way. That’s the man that said I had to preach the gospel. He had some childlike faith wouldn’t you say? His son didn’t.

Kathie: Till later. Well the son, hurt his wrist, cut the tendons in his wrist, in fact it looked like a suicide cut. You went to the doctors, they said they were going to cast it for a couple weeks [Doyle: 14 days], and then we are going to really set it. They said—

Doyle: “You destroyed your wrist.”

Kathie: They wrapped it for fourteen days and then you went back in to get the full blown cast on it and you went to a restaurant right after that, and the Lord spoke to you in the restaurant:

Doyle: “You ought to obey God, not man.”

Kathie: And at that dining room table in the restaurant you said, “What did you say?”

Doyle: That’s what I said.

“You ought to obey God not man.”

And I said, “Say that again.”

“You ought to obey God and not man.”

I looked down, here’s a piece of gauze, (plaster of paris cast), it wasn’t stuck down. I excused myself and went to the men’s room and started pulling it apart.

Kathie: Amen, and you got most of it done didn’t you? [Doyle: Yes.] I can imagine what the janitor thought when he went to change the trash can.

Doyle: When I got home, I took a pair of tin snips and the cast was full arm, just below the elbow and Icut it , took it off, threw it away—never went back to the doctor.

Kathie: That took some faith.

Doyle: He’s the one that gave me a hug.

Kathie: That’s right. He never did ask you why you didn’t come back.

Doyle: He never asked. He probably thought, “This guy will do about anything, that wasn’t true.

Kathie: But God healed your wrist.

Doyle: He healed my wrist.

KD: I want to ask you a question for those of you who don’t realize it, you cut the tendon in your wrist, and you just missed the blood vessel-

Doyle: I could see the artery and the vein and the nerve right beside it. [Kathie: And they weren’t hurt.] No they weren’t, only capillary bleeding. I could see my pulse, I could see the nerve, see the vein, artery and my physician who was a great friend, almost collapsed.

Kathie: So he sewed the tendon back together.

Doyle: The tendon—he brought in a specialist.

Kathie: I was going to say, that’s not an easy thing to do.

Doyle: Right, very difficult. He told me I had destroyed my wrist. “No way,” I didn’t believe that one.

But I’ve got to get to deeper things; I guess this is pretty deep, I used my faith a bit.

I trust in God. I posted something on Facebook about two people who influenced my life:

I thank God for using through His Spirit, Derek Prince and Bob Mumford to open my eyes about the Word of God.

He used them through his Spirit. Here we go, in 1974 I go to Israel. Derek and Lydia invited us to go on the Family Tour; you can read about it. Frankly, I didn’t know much about Israel, except the biblical things I’d learned, but we went and guess what happened? At the Tomb of the Garden, God anointed me, Acts 1:8 on June 16, 1974. Would you read that?

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

Do you see why it was easy for me to say that Derek, and I’ve got to say Lydia (Prince) influenced my life through the spirit? Can you see that? Look what happened at the Tomb of the Garden [on Sunday]. Then on Tuesday night, Derek asked me at dinner if I’d like to speak ten minutes at Christ’s Church. “Sure.” I excused myself, went to my room and said, “OK, Lord, I said yes, now what am I going to say?”

“What have I done for you?”

I said, “Oh yes, you’ve been getting Patti and Kathy to follow me.” So what’d we do? We go back and we talk about Joshua 24:15:

“And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Afterwards a lawyer from New Zealand came to talk to me and said:

“I’ve presented a lot of cases to a judge, and before a jury and I’ve heard a lot presented, but I’ve never heard anybody present what you did—concise, short, understandable,” something to that effect, very complimentary.

You can read about that, but the difficult things came later. I [had] left Florida [in 1972], and came back to Texas. God sent me. Before I left, Bob Mumford recommended a book, The Normal Christian Life by Watchman Nee. I said, “I need it, I’ll buy it.” I bought that book; we got back to Texas and it wasn’t fun. I expected it to be victory, victory, victory. It was, “Obey, obey, obey!” Stay in a hotel and read Romans, ten weeks. But let me tell you what directed me to Romans: the book, The Normal Christian Life by Watchman Nee. I started reading it and it was about the Book of Romans. I said “I don’t need this thing, I’ve got the Book of Romans. Well I could read. Not only that, I had a concordance; by that time I had learned something about studying the bible. I had Vine’s, I had Young’s, I probably didn’t have Strong’s yet, but I soon got it. Alright? That was when the real fun began, would you say? I’m reading Romans.

Kathie: I’ve shared this many times, but I find it interesting, that the Protestant Church began with a man that locked himself in his room and read the Book of Romans, over and over and over and over and God had you do the same thing only he locked you in a hotel.

Doyle: Ten weeks—I had money, I couldn’t lease, I couldn’t buy, I couldn’t do anything for a place to live except the Denton Holiday Inn.

Kathie: And you even moved around [to different] rooms hoping that would open something up.

Doyle: Three or four times, I thought that would help. That was my superstition and I didn’t know I had any. Anyway, I tell you, I think it’s right we move to this.

I read Romans and ended up in the first five chapters at the last. I tried to read it all, that wasn’t good. I tried to read the first eight chapters that wasn’t right, so I ended up in Romans 1 through 5. One day I said to the Lord, “If I could just see your power, I could believe.” Are you here? Ya, you think God wasn’t ready for me?

“Romans Chapter 1, how about verse 20, Doyle?”

“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:”

Doyle: Invisible things, of God, right? [Kathie: Right.] Are what?

“…from the creation of the world”

Oh, from the creation. You people that don’t think he created anything, that the “Big Bang” put it in place—I asked a PhD, a geologist, very wealth man, spent a lot time in the Middle East, digging somewhere. I asked, “How do you think the earth was formed?

“Oh, Big Bang.”

“Ya?”

This guy wore overalls and sandals and had a beard and was worth millions of dollars. I think they were Egyptian sandals. I was his veterinarian for several years. He came to Kathy and Terry Mai’s wedding.

Kathie: You know I went to college with some of the Big Bang theories and I realized later that they had a problem with their theories. First, where did the mass come from? and who lit the match?

Doyle: Oh sure. They had all kinds of problems. If they would have been smart and thought, you know? [Kathie: Amen.]

Now lets go back, The invisible things of God,

"from the creation of the world are clearly seen"

Oh, the invisible things of God, from the creation, clearly seen. Oh? You know I had six years at the university, I was a veterinarian, I got two degrees: a B.S. in agriculture and a DVM, doctor of veterinary medicine. Now let’s go, clearly seen-

clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made,

Doyle: Oh my! Clearly seen and being understood—what’s being understood? God. Isn’t that what that says?

Kathie: Clearly understood the invisible things, [Doyle: of God] of God, yes.

Doyle: What’s next?

“…clearly understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:”

See everything to now…kind of weird, but now we get to eternal what?

“eternal power and Godhead”

Doyle: Wait a minute. Eternal power! Are you there? Eternal power can be clearly clean, understood? Right?

Kathie: Right. By the things that were made, and we’re made.

Doyle: Yes. Eternal power, what else does it say?

“…and godhead.”

Doyle: That verse gave me hours of, “How dumb are you?”

Kathie: And that next part, “so they are without excuse.”

Doyle: Yes that was me, no more excuses. See I made an excuse, “If I could just see the power of God.”

Well, look at that bird right there. God made it. Look at that horse, God made it. Look at that man, God made it. Look at your wife, God made her. How about my daughter? He made her too. How about me? “I made you too.” One day he told me, “I made you for this job.”

Folks, don’t criticize the way you are, the way you look, the way you’re built, don’t. You know what? God made you for a purpose, made you for a purpose. Don’t criticize it. But did you know, read that again.

“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:”

Doyle: Eternal power. If I could just see the power. Well look at that tree right there, you’re about to run into. Or the one you’re going climb, or the one you’re going to cut down. If you’re married and you have a wife, look at her, maybe you’ll approve of God.

Listen, If you didn’t think that didn’t change my life and If you don’t think going to Israel and called of God to preach the gospel, Two very important things, in my life.

One of them Derek and Lydia, Israel, anointed to preach, Tomb of the Garden.

And then Bob Mumford, told me about that book; I bought it, by Watchman Nee. You know I didn’t buy that book to learn a thing about that book?

Kathie: You didn’t read very much of it, did you?

Doyle: No, very few pages. I thought, “My goodness, this Is about Romans, why do I want to read this book? I can read and I’ve got the Book of Romans,” and I wanted to walk in the word. Now, let me assure you that in that first chapter of the Book of Romans, I believe God opened my heart to the gospel, but going on to Corinthians 15, there, how about reading that? Paul preached the gospel, it’s power, not word only.

Kathie: Amen. 1 Corinthians 15:

1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Kathie: As I say, “the bona-fide definition of the gospel.”

Let’s go back to Romans 1:16:

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Doyle: Therein, in the gospel, is the righteousness of God revealed. Right? [Kathie: That’s right.] And from faith to faith? [Kathie: From faith to faith.]

If you think that Bob Mumford and Derek Prince and Lydia were not used by God to open the eyes of this blind veterinarian, trust me that’s what changed my life.

Well, you know what God told me yesterday to do? Give $50,000 to Derek Prince Ministries and $50,000 to Bob Mumford’s, are you here? [Kathie: I’m right here.] And I’m giving it today. [Kathie: Amen.] I think we’re through don’t you?

Mercy grace…multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God and the Lord Jesus Christ. God bless you. I pray that God opens your eyes by listening and viewing this video and you get a revelation of that man Jesus and a revelation of the gospel of Jesus Christ. God bless you.

Afflictions from Religious Spirits

I was raised in a Christian home, my mother Alba (Miller) Davidson, had Baptist roots and my dad, Lyle Davidson had Methodist roots, actually Northern Methodist. I learned after God had given me my ministry that my mother had prayed, asking God for a son, “If you will give me a son, I will give him back to you.” God made sure she kept her vow. I was born with a congenital heart defect, known as “blue-baby” syndrome and the leading physician in Joplin told my parents there wasn’t anything he could do. I’ve been told it was at that point, my mother, quite distraught, threw me on the bed and said, “Take him Lord, he’s yours.” A neighbor told my dad, “You might as well be prepared to find him dead in his crib some morning.” Dad’s response to her was, “No, he won’t die, he will live.” Soon after, God healed me; I have never had a heart problem since then.

My grandfather, Luther Davidson was instrumental in the building of Redwood Holiness Church, along with his family, (dedicated July 4, 1927) and I grew up attending there until I turned eighteen. At that time, I asked my Dad if I could stop going and when he asked why, I told him I didn’t think it was doing me any good. Dad said, “Well if you don’t believe it’s doing you any good then you ought not to go.”

My parents left Redwood and eventually began attending a Baptist church in Sarcoxie, at the encouragement of my sister. She told my Dad he could fellowship with anyone, anywhere, but Mother couldn’t, and she was a Baptist. She suggested to Dad, "Why don't you fast and pray about moving to another church", and he humbled himself and did what she asked. After they started going to the Baptist church, he was no longer able to get healed. He and I talked about it. He had to see physicians more than he ever had in all his years and he also began taking medication. Baptist spirits seduced his faith.

In 1970, when I was baptized in the Holy Spirit, I told my parents that I spoke in tongues. When I told my mother, she said, "Doyle, I told you to stay away from those people." My response was, "Mother, I never heard you."

I chartered Water of Life Church of Plano, Inc. in 1980; I was forty-eight years of age. Ten years earlier I had sold my veterinary hospital and practice at the direction of God. I went on national television in 1992, initially in Joplin, Missouri on Channel 12, KODE. We also went on shortwave radio to Europe and South America through LeSEA and by April 1st of that year we were on every station they had, radio and television. I was sixty years of age.

When Mother would go into town, people would tell her, “Alba, we see Doyle on TV.” She loved that, until I began to say that Baptists didn’t believe God; then she wasn’t so happy.

On one of the occasions that Patti and I visited my parents, we went to church with them at my mother’s request. She spoke highly of the minister and was quite pleased to have us come listen to him preach. That day, he preached a sermon criticizing people who speak in other tongues, saying, “People who speak in tongues are of the devil.” When we got out of there, Mother said, “Lyle did you tell him Doyle spoke in tongues?”

“Alba, I never told him one thing about Doyle,” Dad answered.

After we got home, she said to me, "I can't understand why he went on like that. I never told him you speak in tongues." I explained to her, "It was the spirits in that man that were offended by my presence, not him."

Six months later, that preacher had his secretary pregnant. Mother didn’t think so highly of him then.

I spent eleven months in Florida, managing a small animal practice at the direction of God and in 1972 God sent me back from Florida to Texas, specifically Argyle. I started a bible study and soon preachers started calling me, coming to see me and condemning me because I wouldn’t join any of their organizations.

Denominational people believe everyone needs to belong to someone, preferably them. They want you to submit to them, and if they find out they can’t control you then they set out to destroy you. As long as you are with some denomination, they will leave you alone. I was teaching the bible in my own home and they thought I needed their permission. God had told me to start a bible study and I had the authority and I wasn’t about to stop teaching what God told me to teach.

Eventually word got around, that this veterinarian was casting out devils, laying hands on the sick and they recover, teaching that every man is rich if he believes the gospel. I was teaching that Jesus became poor that we might be rich, (2 Corinthians 8:9). They came and talked to me about all these things and it became evident, they were afraid I was taking up offerings. They thought I was taking their sheep and they were worried I would end up with offerings they thought belonged to them. Well, I wasn’t taking up offerings; I wasn’t taking a dime from anyone.

They told me I needed a pastor, I needed to be under authority. They wanted me to submit to them. I told them, “Jesus Christ is Lord of my life and I submit to him.”

“Well we all do that,” they would answer, however not one of them had done what I had done, sold everything to obey God. I will also add, God had given me a vision in 1970, soon after I sold out, with specific instructions:

I had laid down in bed one evening about 10:30 to go to sleep when suddenly before my eyes I found myself standing at the water’s edge. The water was crystal clear and I could see the bottom was covered in small brown pebbles that went out for about 10-12 feet. At that juncture was a clear line of demarcation, the water became very blue, deep blue. I was reminded of the water I saw in the South Pacific in 1953 when I was in the U.S. Navy. I raised up, sat up in bed, shook my head, everything remained the same, the vision didn’t go away. I stood up and the scene never left me. I thought this must be a vision of God. As I looked up and out the water as far as you could see was deep, dark blue just like the water in the South Pacific Ocean. In a few minutes I was able to go on to sleep. The next morning, I began to pray and ask the Lord what the vision meant. About 11:00 AM it came to me by the Spirit, “You are about to enter into deep water, and if you look to the left or look to the right or listen to any man you’ll drown.”

God knew what was ahead of me. There were four Charismatic preachers, Baptists, in the area who seemed intent on destroying me. Their persecution brought great pressure on me, so much so, that my dentist asked me, “What kind of stress are you under?”

“I don’t know, why?”

“You have lost 30% of your bone around your teeth; it’s from stress.” This had happened within six months’ time from my last checkup. I saw a specialist in Dallas who confirmed it and they told me I would be fortunate if I kept my teeth five years. I kept them fifteen more years, but then they all came out; I have one tooth left in my mouth. It is incredible how much evil spirits can affect the human body, but know this, I am expecting a new set of teeth any time, the Lord will put them in my mouth.

One of preachers who visited my bible study said, “We need you in our church,” and kept trying to get me to join. One Sunday afternoon I knew God wanted us to join that church; he was leading me to overcome a religious spirit. Patti and I went to the evening service and told the pastor our intentions. After the service the announcement was made that the Davidsons were joining the church and the senior pastor gave the usual introduction that they do with new members and invited everyone to come up and greet us. An associate pastor at the church who was in his sixties stepped up and asked me to give him my hands. I did, and he said to me, “Young man, you have a dark cloud over you”. Out of my heart with faith and power came: “I know who you are Satan! I bind you in the name of Jesus!”

The senior pastor walked over and said, “Well you have done it now!”

“Look,” I said, “Don’t tell me that the devil has me, I cast them out. I don’t want the devil talking to me.”

I didn’t go back to that church, however one day God said, “Go tell that pastor I want to build him a new house.”

I did. I went to see him and said, “The Lord told me to tell you he wanted to build you a new house.”

“Oh, Brother Doyle!” he exclaimed.

“Yeah, the Lord said to tell you he wanted to build you a new house.”

He lived just three or four hundred yards from a housing development and got in his car and drove down there and as he was standing on one of the lots, a man yelled across two or three rows of lots, “Preacher I want to build you a new house on that very lot you’re standing on and it won’t cost you a dime to get into it.”

That is exactly what happened, he built the house, they got it financed and it was a nice house; I went to see it. It was a blessing to me to me that God did exactly what I told him God said. He was so happy that Brother Doyle would come, but the story didn’t end there—he lost the house, he lost his job, his ministry, everything.

One preacher said, “As soon as I heard his name, I knew he was trouble.” I was told that man died. Another who was after me, lost his church.

Those days in the seventies were difficult days, very difficult. I prayed these verses in Isaiah 41 for hours, week after week:

10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed, for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

11 Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish.

12 Thou shall seek them, and they shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.

By the grace and mercy of God, I overcame, and I am still here, preaching the same gospel that I’ve preached from the beginning.

May 22, 2017 the Lord said to me,

“I’ve chosen you, sent you to the four corners of the earth to deliver my word without despair or fear, saith the Lord of Hosts."

God bless,
Doyle Davidson
