Saturday April 22, 2017 11:00AM Livestream Broadcast
Hello, I’m Doyle Davidson, servant and apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ ministering locally to the Body of Christ in Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas, sent by God to your house to declare unto you the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:3 and 4 tell us what the gospel is, how that Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, he was buried, rose again the third day, according to the scripture.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, sent me to heal the broken hearted, preach deliverance to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, set at liberty them that are bruised.
The word is nigh thee, even in your heart and in your mouth, that is the word of faith which I preach if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you shall be saved, for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
I’m not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, it is the power of God unto salvation, to everyone that believeth, to the Jew first and also to the Greek, therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith, as it is written, the just shall live by his faith.
I want to welcome everyone to this broadcast…to my left co-host Kathie Davidson, good morning. [Kathie: Good morning] How are you? [Kathie: I’m doing well]
1 Corinthians 14:
26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.
28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.
30 If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.
31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.
32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
You know Kathie, you and I have been talking this morning, you prayed for me, you live with me, you know what comes out of my mouth and out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. You know that I’ve been persecuted much by many, I’ve been persecuted by people that I didn’t know were persecuting me and you know I’ve told you I forgive freely, every person that has persecuted me. If I don’t’ mean that in my heart, I don’t know that. I want to know if there is unforgiveness in my heart toward any person about anything. I’ve certainly been willing to say, I forgive them. I pray and I forgive them, is that right? [Kathie: That’s right.] If there is anything in me that has blinded me, like Satan, from forgiving I don’t know that. I pray, “Grant me the grace and the mercy.” I think some things that have been done to me have been very mean, wicked, God said, “Spiteful.” Spite means, want to do harm--is that right? [Kathie: That’s right.] Want to harm me. And we went over this, this morning. [Kathie: right] well thank God. I’ve said all this openly, but now, let’s have Terry Mai’s songs, along with Water of Life Boys’ recording on the songs and during the program if God wants to say something, deliver me, show me something that’s there, [toward] you, Kaspareit, Anthony, Terre, anybody, Paul, I want to hear it; I’m laying myself bare right in front of the whole world.
“It Is Finished”
“Rise Again”
“God On The Mountain” (Terre Brown)
Kathie, I want to say a few things about myself, about the oppression, about any unforgiveness against anybody; you know that I’ve been persecuted a lot, Psalm 143 describes me, the state I’m in, and Psalm 142, right? [Kathie: Right.] I’ve been at this a long time and I’ve forgiven everybody I ever knew, I know of no resentment in me toward anybody or bitterness, unforgiveness, vindictiveness, I know of none and there’s nothing I’m not willing to acknowledge. I will say there are people that committed sins against me in secret and hid them and if there is any problem I have, it’s that. How could any sincere person hide their sins from me, against me and then I found it out years later? I want to say right now and ask everybody to pray for me, that God grants me the grace, to find grace to help, in this time of need, that I can forgive any person that I would be holding unforgiveness against.
Kathie: You know, Corrie ten Boom, we all know about her having to forgive the prison guard, and the difficulty she had forgiving him, and what I find amazing, she wrote an article and it continues on, she said that wasn’t the hardest thing she ever had to forgive. She said that when she was approached with the prison guard that came to her and she looked at him and she said that her blood ran cold, because under that prison guard her sister died, slowly and it was an awful death and she told God that this man wanted her forgiveness and she said, “I can’t do this,” and God met her. She told God, “I will supply my arm to reach out to him, but you’re going to have to supply the feeling, I have none.” And when she stretched forth her hand, God met her and she said the feeling began in her shoulder and it went down her arm and she said by the time her and the gentleman shook hands, she said in her heart she had all the grace, mercy and she forgave him and she could forgive him from the heart and that was a move of God, that was the grace of God in her life, and that was the Holy Spirit, helping her.
And then she goes on, that wasn’t the worst time; she said years later she had some dear friends, dear friends say some things about her, do some things against her, secretly, behind her back and then she found herself in the same place, she had to forgive, she didn’t want to. She found it more difficult here because they had gotten close to her and it’s funny she shared with a friend from America, she said, “I found myself in the same place and I went to the same God, the same Jesus, and I asked for grace and mercy to forgive,” and she said God supplied the same grace and she was able to forgive her friends but, years later, her friend came back from America to visit her and when he came to her home she was there and the people that she had to forgive were there also and they talked and they had a nice time together and then the friends that she had to forgive left. And her friend said to her, “Corrie, are those the people that you had to forgive?” And Corrie said, “Oh yes, don’t you see how wonderful that is?” They went on in their conversation and she said, “You know, I even have proof what they did to me.” This one got me: she said, “I even have proof what they did to me,” and she went to her desk and she was fumbling around in her papers that proved what these friends had done to her. And her American friend put his hand on her arm and said, “Corrie, you’ve got proof?” and Corrie realized she had to get rid of the proof.
Doyle: If I’ve got any, I don’t know where it’s recorded, you follow me?
Kathie: I follow you. I did, I had some proof of what people had done to me and after I heard this, Corrie took the letters, she looked at her friend and she went, “Oh my God,” and he left and she burned every bit of the letters that there was no evidence, nothing left of the sin and I remember when I read that, I went home and got rid of all the evidence I knew so that there would be no evidence of that person’s sin on the earth anymore, I wasn’t going to be the one holding it.
Doyle: This happened to you?
Kathie: This happened to me…
Doyle: If I have any proof anywhere, of the people that persecuted me and sinned against me, I do not know where it’s at, do you?
Kathie: Maybe it’s in the heart.
Doyle: Well that would be the only place it could be. You know, in the book of Romans, a hard heart, they store up wrath against themselves, right? [Kathie: Right]
Romans 2:
4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
11 For there is no respect of persons with God.
I’m going to tell you something, Derek Prince, 1976 July 5th, Kenneth Copeland [meeting] Derek Prince spoke, afterwards Derek came to me and said there were some preachers that wanted him to invite me to their house in his presence to hear what accusations they had against me that they said were true. Derek said, “Will you go?” I said, “Do you think we should?” He said, “Yes.” I said, “Alright I’ll go only because you think it’s right, because I know what they’re going to say, and every one of them are lies.”
So, we went, we went to Orlando Reyes house. For two hours I sat there listening to one accusation after another and when it was over, Derek said to me, “Do you have anything to say?” I said, “No sir, I do not.” I didn’t.
I was invited to North Carolina with him, Dick Leggett was there, in fact I think I have a picture of it. [Kathie: Yes, he mentions that more than once, Dick Leggett does.] Amen. So when I got to Carolina, I said, “Derek I want to talk to you.” He said, “Alright,” he said, “I’ve got about ten minutes. There’s a mountain there, asphalt road,” and he said, “can you walk up that?” I was probably in pride, “I said, “Yes, backwards.” And I wanted to face him and I forgive him. I wanted to look him in the eye while I said what I had to say. And I backed up that mountain and he said, “Boy you are in good condition, aren’t you?” I said, “Yes sir.” I said, “I was not ready for what you did to me, set me up, invite me to that meeting, [Kathie: Because at that time he was a friend of yours.] That’s right, I thought. “You believed what those people said and you said to me, ‘Do I have anything to say and I said no’. Derek said, “I want to tell you what’s in my heart and he quoted [the] verse: For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. (Galatians 6:3)
I said, “Are you speaking to me?” He said, “I don’t know.” I said, “Well why’d you say it? Why’d you say it?” I forgive him.
Kathie: You know, I’ve heard this verse more than once, the devil has even said it to me, but we always leave off verse four, “but let every man prove his own work.”
Well, I might be wrong, if I am Lord, forgive me, but I thought Derek was saying to me, “You’re not who you think you are.” [Kathie: Right. But you proved your own work, the work was proven.] That’s true. [Kathie: Over and over and over again.]
I loved that man, [Kathie: I know] and Lydia. I was not going to be deceived, by any man and God told me in 1971, “…don’t look to the right and don’t look to the left and don’t listen to any man, or you’re going to drown.” If that vision isn’t up, put it up.
Kathie: You became good friends of Derek Prince and in that being good friends with him, God showed you the deceit in that whole thing. You saw the deceit in the discipleship movement, [Doyle: Yes I did] and you also saw the deceit in Derek.
Doyle: Yes I did. Derek told me twice, “You are the clearest thinking man I’ve ever met in my life.” He did push to get me to join Charles Simpson. I said, “No, you’re the one I met, I never even heard of Charles Simpson, nor had I heard of you. You and I have talked face to face a lot of times.” And I’m sure I was wrong, Lord forgive me, but I thought a friend would have never set me before a group that wanted to kill me.
Kathie: Why do you think Derek did that?
Because he believed them and not me. I told him, “I’ve not done one thing to these people, I held bible studies in my home and they didn't like it.” They came and told me that I had hidden sin. I said, “What is it?” Well, we don’t know, it’s hidden.”
“Well if you don’t know, because it’s hidden, then how do you know its hidden, how do you know it’s there?”
They said, “Have you ever lied to your clients?”
I said, “I don’t remember and if I did…”
“Did you ever steal money from them?”
I said, “No sir, I was honest.”
“You didn’t lie to your clients to get money?
“No I didn’t, I was honest.”
One of the elders said, “Well I did.”
I said, “Well that’s your problem, not mine.”
Boy this is coming out from way back, isn’t it? No wonder my shoulders hurt. I didn’t understand, you know I don’t know what ever happened to those people, but you can believe one thing, if you want to, I don’t’ even care, they didn’t have one thing on me.
Kathie: That’s the interesting thing, the forgiveness wasn’t toward those who accused you, the forgiveness had to go to Derek, for bringing you there.
They used Derek because he knew me well, [Kathie: Right.] and I’ve made it plain to Derek, “Do you think I should go?”
“Yes.”
“I don’t, but because you say so, I will go with you, but I’m going to tell you what they’re going to do.”
Kathie: But like this verse says, you proved your own work.
Well, you know, I was a successful, professional business man and I was raised in John Wesley Methodist Holiness and if John Wesley had written about it and it was in the bible, I was taught to believe it. John Wesley was a man that taught some straight doctrine, it was in the bible, I believed it, I acknowledged it, I won’t’ say that I believed it all but, well, I don’t want to say any more about this incident, as far as I was concerned it was over a long time ago but it wasn’t over with God in my heart. Do you follow me? [Kathie: I follow you.] Derek Prince is dead, I’m alive. I’ve got a ministry that many thought he had. I heard more than one ask him if he were an apostle, he said no, he was a teacher.
Kathie: You know, I found it interesting Derek wanted you to teach his sermons.
He said, “Take my sermons and preach them.”
Kathie: Right, and if Derek had any understanding of the Spirit, that cannot be done.
That’s the truth. I told him no, I would only preach my own. [Kathie: That’s it.]
Do you know I love those people? [Kathie: amen] They didn’t bother me, they didn’t pressure me, I was saved, I was born again when I was a young boy. Oh, I sinned, but one thing for sure, Jesus Christ didn’t forsake me. I had no idea my mother had asked for God to give her son, she’d give him back, she did.
Kathie: I love that God made a way for her to give you back. Because he was the one that put that in her heart in the first place.
Sure he did. I had no idea KD, that I was a prophet like Jeremiah, no idea, but I was. Amen.
Do you have anything to say?
Kathie: How about some songs?
What songs?
What’s in your heart? There might be some others that need to forgive.
I want to tell you I was looking for a song from 30 or 40 years ago, when I was in Florida…you posted it last night for me. Kathie: Oh yes, "He Paid a Debt He Did Not Owe".
You know I don’t know a thing about that man, [Kathie: You mean the one who wrote the song? I don’t know the history of the song.] Does anyone know anything about that song? [Kathie: I’m sure we’ll get it posted.]
I will tell you this, I’m a simple hearted man, and they couldn’t deceive me because I knew the word of God and that’s all they could accuse me of.
“Victory In Jesus” by the Mai Girls
I lived by the verses in Psalm 15 through this whole deal:
Psalm 15:
1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.
3 He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.
4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.
5 He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.
I just said, “I’m not going to say anything about all this, but it’s more involved. I had one thing in mind, and I said It, “I want to know if discipleship is of God or not.”
I had four friends who said, “What is this about you and Derek Prince, anyhow?”
I said, “Nothing! He’s a man, I’m a man. I want to know if this discipleship thing is God, or not. If it is, I’m joining, if it’s not, I’m not.” And one day in 1977, Derek wrung his hands and said, “I’ve ever met a man like you, I give up. I don’t know what to do with you.”
I said, “Thank you.” I knew what to do, walk away.
