The Origin of the Fire Baptized Holiness Church

I found the origin of the Fire Baptized Holiness Church that I was raised in. According to the Montgomery County Chronicle July 2009 by Andy Taylor:

”Baxter Springs [Kansas] served as the first location of a camp meeting, which took place 112 years ago. Oswego, Chetopa and Mound Valley also hosted the annual camp meeting in the denomination’s early days.”

The meetings then moved to Cherryvale, Kansas.

“Southeast Kansas is regarded as the original home of the Bible Holiness Church, which was previously known as the Fire Baptized Holiness Church. The church movement began in 1890 when disgruntled members of the Methodist Episcopal Church of southern Kansas separated to form their own denomination. The original name, the Southeast Kansas Fire Baptized Holiness Association, was changed in 1945. The Fire Baptized Holiness Church officially dropped the “Fire” from its name in 1995 so as not to confuse the denomination with a similarly-named Fire Baptized Holiness Church denomination that is prevalent in the southern United States.”

My family joined with this organization in 1924 when they built Redwood Church in rural Sarcoxie, Missouri. More information will follow.

Flattering Divination - America’s Problem

Take note of the bold words.

Ezekiel 13:

1 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

2 Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the word of the Lord;

3 Thus saith the Lord God; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!

4 O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts.

5 Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the Lord.

6 They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The Lord saith: and the Lord hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word.

7 Have ye not seen a vain vision, and have ye not spoken a lying divination, whereas ye say, The Lord saith it; albeit I have not spoken?

8 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you, saith the Lord God.

9 And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies: they shall not be in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord God.

10 Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there was no peace; and one built up a wall, and, lo, others daubed it with untempered morter:

11 Say unto them which daub it with untempered morter, that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing shower; and ye, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall rend it.

12 Lo, when the wall is fallen, shall it not be said unto you, Where is the daubing wherewith ye have daubed it?

13 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; I will even rend it with a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be an overflowing shower in mine anger, and great hailstones in my fury to consume it.

14 So will I break down the wall that ye have daubed with untempered morter, and bring it down to the ground, so that the foundation thereof shall be discovered, and it shall fall, and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

15 Thus will I accomplish my wrath upon the wall, and upon them that have daubed it with untempered morter, and will say unto you, The wall is no more, neither they that daubed it;

16 To wit, the prophets of Israel which prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and which see visions of peace for her, and there is no peace, saith the Lord God.

17 Likewise, thou son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, which prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy thou against them,

18 And say, Thus saith the Lord God; Woe to the women that sew pillows to all armholes, and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls! Will ye hunt the souls of my people, and will ye save the souls alive that come unto you?

19 And will ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies?

20 Wherefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly.

21 Your kerchiefs also will I tear, and deliver my people out of your hand, and they shall be no more in your hand to be hunted; and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

22 Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life:

23 Therefore ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations: for I will deliver my people out of your hand: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

As an apostle and prophet of Jesus Christ, God sent me warning America they are walking in flattering divination, which is witchcraft. Most preachers of America walk in this spirit as the prophets and women of Israel walked in. I have been speaking on national television and radio since 1992 that preachers of America walk in flattering divination and have caused the problems of America. I have received much affliction and persecution because of speaking this truth.

In 2003 God sent me along with six other people to pray in all 48 contiguous states for America. We flew charter airplane out of McKinney and completed this in July 2004. During that time I confronted divination of America and great oppression and rejection by men and women came upon me. By January 2009 my eyesight began diminishing and has diminished to where I can barely see to get around in the church building and my house. This is all from flattering divination. There is nothing wrong with my eyes. The Apostle Paul had the same thing happen to him in Galatians 4 and you also find this spoken of in the Psalms. Thank God I am overcoming a bit each day and I will regain my sight completely.

God bless,

Vision - God's Daughters

Excerpt of transcript (edited) from Livestream Broadcast Sept. 10, 2014

Doyle Davidson:

This morning I woke up, I’m not sure what time and I heard a song, "Holy Highway" is being sung and it was beautiful and I was in my bed during that song and seven women, white women appeared, they were all dressed in what seemed to be a bit of lavender and mostly blue. And they had on these dresses about at their knees and they had a neckerchief on, had a square knot and two ends, they were all in the same color as the dress. The knot was placed just right at the top of where the dress v-ed. Now, these women were of brown hair and they had full faces and they had some type of lipstick, lip dressing on their lips. They were very alert and looked very nice. Then in a few seconds they left my presence and I saw out in front of me a rolling hill, valley—hill, they had trees on them, well groomed/kept, trunks maybe ten feet up with no limbs and above that point, limbs with leaves on them. The grass was brown, you could see all under the trees, the brown grass. I presume it was in the fall of the year, warm weather, that might be presumption on my part and I said so and then, as I said, the song “Holy Highway” was being sung, beautifully done, and when I saw these women, their dress I thought “Well someone is doing a production,” some ministry perhaps. “How come I’m seeing it?”

And then, I actually wasn’t sure who was singing “Holy Highway” but it sounded like Water of Life, it sounded like Terre, the Browns and Paul Peters but I couldn’t be sure of anything. Then I heard a song, “I’ll Return,” being sung and as I looked out in front of me, I set up in bed, I wanted to see more clearly, and I saw women, kind of coming from various directions and merging in a smaller focus and I was stunned. I thought, “Where am I?” I knew I was in my bedroom because I leave the bathroom lights on just to the right of my bed so I can see to get to the bathroom at night and I looked and it was there and I felt and I found KD and I said “Well this must be in my house but where are all these people coming from?” and then I heard the song like I said, “I Have Returned.” At first I thought it was someone else singing it and but then I think “Well, this is Chico Holiday” and I have “Holy Highway” and “I Have Returned” by Chico playing in the bedroom along with other songs. Then I heard the Mai Girls singing “It Is Your Love,” I recognized them for sure with that song and I was amazed, “What’s going on?”

Now the women I no longer see. I saw in the vision I think four men, my goodness, that might have been the quartet, Water of Life, but I don’t think they sang a song anyway, next after the Mai’s came Terry Mai, Water of Life Boys singing “Rise and Be Healed”, I still wasn’t sure all this was taking place in my house but I’m beginning to get a confidence in what I’m looking at and it’s beginning to form a purpose, “Holy Highway”, “I Have Returned” to the God of mother, father, childhood, so forth, “It Is Your Love”, God’s love, then “Rise and Be Healed” followed by “Rise Again,” Terry Mai and the boys, followed by “There Stood a Lamb”, I have not said a word to KD at all, amen, amen, “There Stood a Lamb”, next I heard, “I’ll Rise Again”, followed by that I heard a song by Terre Brown, “That’s What the Cross Is For”, that’s still while I’m getting the picture, then I heard another one, I forgot what it was then I heard the Brown Brothers, “Sojourner”, then I heard others, Terry Mai and the Boys, I heard track on “I Proclaim the Name of the Lord”.

But to backup from the Mai Girls forward, I was in a huge building, the ceiling was somewhat concave, and it was painted rose color, amen and over the rose it looked like they had just splattered maybe a lavender blue, beautiful. Overwhelming, it looked way up like a huge building, yet I’m in my bedroom. I was well aware of everything as I am right now. How come you’re weeping? well I started that at about the end of an hour…I said, “I believe this is the healing of God’s daughters.” That’s Jeremiah 8… “healed the hurt of my daughters slightly.” I began to weep knowing I was interceding for God’s daughters to be healed and that I had waited for since 2004 or 2005, but let me share something with you. In 2010, actually Kathie D and I were praying in the fellowship hall and Terre Brown, the one that God told me to deliver in September 1992, joined us on May 14 and we were praying and [Kathie D said she had wrote down that God gave Doyle Matthew 18:20]

I can see, I’m going to make this plain…that through the worship, praise and thanks, ministries of song--the great deliverance will come which I’ve been assured of that for a long time, which God spoke to me in 1987 about that, and in that will come the healing of God’s daughters, complete, they have to be. The church can never be assembled, never, until the daughters are being healed as it is being assembled. It has to be, I’ve been at this 44 years and I know what I’m talking about. So it’s going to be a glorious time to see God heal his daughters and is most certainly going to take place.

The Great Deliverance (Exodus 12)

September 1987 God told me a great deliverance was coming. Moses and Aaron led God’s people out of Egypt. Today God’s holy apostles and prophets will lead God’s people out of bondage. We see here in Exodus 12 that they killed the lamb without blemish and they prepared it according to God’s instructions on the fourteenth day of the first month. Having killed the lamb they were instructed what to do with the blood and then eat it that night. Verse 11 tells them how to eat it: And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the Lord's Passover.

Notice this lamb was the Passover lamb, who is Jesus. The great deliverance being led by Jesus through the apostles and prophets will lead those that are full of Jesus out of bondage and set them in the Body of Christ as it has pleased him.

If we read this Exodus 12 humbly and with prayer God will give you a revelation of what the great deliverance will be like. I pray those that have ears to hear will hear what the Spirit of God is saying.

Exodus 12:

1 And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt saying,

2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.

3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:

4 And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.

5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:

6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.

7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.

8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.

9 Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof.

10 And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.

11 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the Lord's passover.

12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord.

13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.

14 And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the Lord throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.

15 Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.

16 And in the first day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you; no manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man must eat, that only may be done of you.

17 And ye shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this selfsame day have I brought your armies out of the land of Egypt: therefore shall ye observe this day in your generations by an ordinance for ever.

18 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even.

19 Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses: for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or born in the land.

20 Ye shall eat nothing leavened; in all your habitations shall ye eat unleavened bread.

21 Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover.

22 And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning.

23 For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.

24 And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever.

25 And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the Lord will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service.

26 And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service?

27 That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the Lord's passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped.

28 And the children of Israel went away, and did as the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.

29 And it came to pass, that at midnight the Lord smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle.

30 And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead.

31 And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the Lord, as ye have said.

32 Also take your flocks and your herds, as ye have said, and be gone; and bless me also.

33 And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people, that they might send them out of the land in haste; for they said, We be all dead men.

34 And the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneadingtroughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders.

35 And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment:

36 And the Lord gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians.

37 And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside children.

38 And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle.

39 And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they brought forth out of Egypt, for it was not leavened; because they were thrust out of Egypt, and could not tarry, neither had they prepared for themselves any victual.

40 Now the sojourning of the children of Israel, who dwelt in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years.

41 And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the Lord went out from the land of Egypt.

42 It is a night to be much observed unto the Lord for bringing them out from the land of Egypt: this is that night of the Lord to be observed of all the children of Israel in their generations.

43 And the Lord said unto Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of the passover: There shall no stranger eat thereof:

44 But every man's servant that is bought for money, when thou hast circumcised him, then shall he eat thereof.

45 A foreigner and an hired servant shall not eat thereof.

46 In one house shall it be eaten; thou shalt not carry forth ought of the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall ye break a bone thereof.

47 All the congregation of Israel shall keep it.

48 And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the passover to the Lord, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.

49 One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.

50 Thus did all the children of Israel; as the Lord commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.

51 And it came to pass the selfsame day, that the Lord did bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies.

"To Preserve You a Posterity in the Earth"

Recently, Doyle spoke by the Spirit of God on Live Stream that the United States was not founded on Judeo-Christian principles, but it was founded on the teachings of Jesus Christ. We summarized in the writing, “The First Principles of the Oracles of God” about a group of people God sent to America, who believed and practiced the foundation teachings of Jesus, found in Hebrews 6:

1) “Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

2) Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.”

Doyle continued to pray and as we talked, he began to speak about Joseph and Jacob in Egypt; how God had sent Joseph ahead, and through Jacob and Joseph, had preserved a remnant.

“And God sent me before you to preserve you posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.” Genesis 45:7

A group of people came to America, seeking freedom to worship God as they understood the scriptures. As they arrived in New England, and sought to settle in the Massachusetts area, they found the same persecution and oppression they had left in England was in New England. The ruling elders of the Massachusetts Bay colony were of strict Puritan beliefs, who governed according to their beliefs. Those who disagreed were, fined, jailed, beaten and even killed. Many who would not submit to the doctrine of the Massachusetts colonies were exiled, and some left of their own accord.

As has been written in previous accounts, a group of people gathered in what we now know as the state of Rhode Island, teaching and practicing the principles of Jesus found in Hebrews 6, meeting in their homes and they were eventually called, The Six-Principles Sect. (They didn’t label themselves as such, historians have given them that name). They believed that no one had the authority to dictate what a person believed and they established their government on a separation of church and state. But as we have read, the government of the Massachusetts Bay Colony was not content with the removal of those they considered heretics from their jurisdiction, their intent was to destroy them and except for the mercy of God, they would have succeeded. Roger Williams, Samuel Gorton, Ezekiel Holliman, John Greene, John Clark, Obadiah Holmes and others suffered great personal affliction, loss of property and continual persecution. Samuel Gorton emerged as the principal leader of their cause, and he fought tirelessly to preserve their freedom to worship as their conscience dictated.

Adelos Gorton, author of The Life and Times of Samuel Gorton wrote:

“In reviewing the efforts of Massachusetts to extend her jurisdiction and to attach to herself any residents of the Providence Plantations, and to lead the people in revolt against the charter, the claims of the other colonies and the great sufferings and trials that the people endured, the historian of Rhode Island says:

“As we examine the progress of this deeply laid scheme and observe the steadiness with which it was pressed through a long series of years, we cannot but admire the firmness of our ancestors toiling at every turn, nor can we fail to recognize the hand of a Supreme power in preserving a colony of whose peculiar principles at first made it an object of aversion, and finally were adopted as the cardinal doctrine of a whole nation.”

Time after time, when it seemed the little group would be destroyed by the larger and more powerful colony, God intervened on their behalf and they would emerge victorious for another day. God has revealed to Doyle, that just as God preserved a remnant in Israel, He preserved a remnant in America in the little group of Rhode Islanders, the ancestors of Doyle and also David Kaspareit, to preach the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Six Principles Doctrine that the churches in Rhode Island taught and practiced are the same teachings Doyle has taught from the beginning of his ministry.

As the years progressed, the teachings and practices of the Rhode Island group began to decline and successive generations began to be drawn away from their ancestors’ beliefs. Those who considered themselves followers of Samuel Gorton had been labeled, Gortonites. Dr. Ezra Stiles who is quoted in Lewis Janes’ book about Samuel Gorton, wrote in his diary of an interview with John Angel, an aged man whose father and grandfather had known Gorton. Mr Angel believed he was the last remaining “disciple” of Samuel Gorton and he said of Gorton:

“He was universally beloved by all his Neighbors and the Indians, who esteemed him not only as a Friend but one high in communion with God & Heaven, and indeed he lived in Heaven.” Mr. Angel died in Providence on December, 23, 1774.

In 1987, God ministered to Doyle, “So as Joseph’s brother sold him into bondage, so have your brothers sold you into bondage, but there is coming a great deliverance.”

Ben Swett

In 1970 when I entered into the Charismatic Movement I attended a meeting where a man named Ben Swett was ministering in song. He was a humble man. He shared a testimony that touched my heart in a great way. He told of a man that was a drunk laying in a tire department of a service station. He was incapacitated and it was hot, and he was miserable (it could have been in the state of Illinois). Ben said a rich Jew came into that tire shop and talked to this man that was drunk. That rich Jew was Jesus. He saved him and gave him a ministry with a guitar, singing for Jesus. He sang “Fill My Cup Lord.” I needed to hear that man and this song because I was one prideful, successful, veterinarian and businessman. I never heard a man sing that so touched my life. If anyone knows of that song “Fill My Cup Lord” with Ben Swett singing it and where to get it, I would be most grateful. This man has earned the right for the world to hear of his testimony.

A Work of Righteousness - 2013

He Revealeth His Secret Unto His Servants the Prophets

Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. Amos 3:7

Daniel 11. On January 17th God ministered Daniel 11 to me and showed me it was America. I posted the verses in Daniel 11:20-35, with the title: “Daniel Prophesies of the Antichrist.”

Daniel 11:

20 Then shall stand up in his estate a raiser of taxes in the glory of the kingdom: but within few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle.

21 And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.

22 And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.

23 And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people.

24 He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time.

25 And he shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army; and the king of the south shall be stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army; but he shall not stand: for they shall forecast devices against him.

26 Yea, they that feed of the portion of his meat shall destroy him, and his army shall overflow: and many shall fall down slain.

27 And both of these kings' hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at one table; but it shall not prosper: for yet the end shall be at the time appointed.

28 Then shall he return into his land with great riches; and his heart shall be against the holy covenant; and he shall do exploits, and return to his own land.

29 At the time appointed he shall return, and come toward the south; but it shall not be as the former, or as the latter.

30 For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant.

31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.

32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

33 And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days.

34 Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries.

35 And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.

Tongue and Interpretation in Navasota. January 18th Kathie D and I drove to Navasota, Texas in
preparation for the praise and worship meeting the following day. I invited Anthony and Misty Reece to our hotel room. During our fellowship, Kathie gave a tongue and I had the interpretation. The Lord was saying, “…those I gave you cannot be lost…didn’t I teach about Peter, Elisha and Elijah? They cannot hurt you, speak boldly…” My eyesight greatly dimmed with the Daniel revelation; I couldn’t see to navigate my hotel room.

Navasota, Texas Praise and Worship. January 19th we had a powerful praise and worship meeting in Navasota, Texas today with about 80 people present, beautiful weather, 65 degrees and sunshine. Before we began worship, I spoke on Daniel 11:20-28. There will be two kings come—one will be a raiser of taxes, though his days will be few and another stronger than him will replace him and walk in strong flattering divination. Through his witchcrafts this second king will take the prey, the spoil and the riches. A strong king from the south will stand up with a great army but will not stand and many shall fall down slain and the second king returns back to his own land with great riches.

Navasota Praise and Worship

At the beginning of our worship, it was difficult with much pressure, so much so that my feet were numb. Before it was over, I broke through and all the numbness left.

That evening after returning home from the meeting, my eyes were very dim, and the following day, I could no longer read my Tablet nor walk the aisle at the church. On January 28th I be- gan a three day fast to seek a right way and God ministered Isaiah 35 to me on the 31st.

Mount Pleasant, Texas Praise and Worship. We conducted an outdoor praise and worship meeting
in Dellwood Park at the Danny Drive Pavilion on Saturday February 23rd. It was a bright, sunny day with mild temperatures in the low fifties.

There were 68 people in attendance, including Donnie Norman, Vivian Stribling and Kevin and Sophie Hurley from Missouri with the remaining being from Texas. It was a most enjoyable time to worship the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and the Lord Jesus.

Message to America-The Name of Jesus. On February 25th I recorded an audio message, stating that it was “…a message to my country,” and I prayed America would humble themselves and hear what God was saying. You can find it on my website.

Paul Peters was ordained as a minister of the gospel on March 3rd.

Bowie, Texas Praise and Worship. Saturday, March 23rd over 70 people representing Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri, joined together for a great time of praise and worship in Bowie, Texas. It rained for about 45 minutes prior to our meeting and by the time of my opening comments, the sun was shining and the temperature was in the 50s. We have held ten outdoor worship meetings in a row and the weather has not interfered one time and I give glory to God. It was a powerful hour of worship and I personally broke through for a good twenty minutes which was very encouraging for me.

Joplin, Missouri Praise and Worship. April 20th Water of Life Ministries returned to the Holiday Inn in Joplin to conduct praise and worship meetings. Sixteen of us flew charter in a Lear and King Air 200. Over 86 people were at our first meeting. We held subsequent meetings every month through November, excluding May, flying charter each time.

Quartet: Paul, David, Phillip, Daniel
Water of Life Quartet, comprised of Paul Peters and Phillip, David and Daniel Brown also minis- tered in Joplin with The Love of God. They had opened the praise and worship for the first time on our Livestream Broad-cast on May 29th. It is a great blessing for me to watch these four young men develop and come along.

People from Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas joined us to praise the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and the Lord Jesus Christ in Joplin in all our meetings, preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of God, making known in the heavenlies, the manifold wisdom of God.

Meeting. May 4th I met with Dick Leggett, President of Derek Prince Ministries, USA and Mike Ross. I shared with them about Daniel 11 and also the Roman spirit.

Vision of 24 Leafy Trees. The morning of August 9th I awoke with a vision of approximately 24 leafy trees about two feet tall in a loose knitted group without any order. The Spirit of the Lord said “These are trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord”. Later as I continued to pray I saw what appeared to be the same trees, but they were now further apart. They appeared to be about 100 feet apart in a straight line, every tree standing on its own on hills and valleys. I believe this is what God was saying to me: that everyone (male and female) is espoused to one husband, which is found in 2 Corinthians 11:

2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

Steddie Muserera - Zimbabwe, Africa. On Thursday September 26th I received a phone call from Steddie Muserera of Zimbabwe. Steddie was director of Water of Life Ministries, Zimbabwe from 1990 through 1997. Our office was located in Harare and they distributed tapes and books free of charge and also ministered to an orphanage in the city. Steddie oversaw all their activities acting as an ambas- sador for Water of Life Ministries in Zimbabwe. It was a great blessing to hear from Steddie, to learn that he and his family were doing well and that he has continued to seek God and pray for his nation. I have never forgotten the people of Africa and those God sent me to minister to. They are again receiving the gospel through our Livestream broadcasts.

Soon after our initial contact, I learned people in Steddie’s area did not have a consistent supply of water and God directed me to drill three wells in Zimbabwe. They began the first well on November 4th and by the 8th we received word from Steddie that even before it was completely finished, they were receiving water from it. It was a great comfort to my heart.

Zimbabwe well, paid for by Water of Life

October 4th Kathie Davidson and Terre Brown were ordained as ministers of the gospel and the Water of Life Boys were ordained as ministers of the gospel on November 17th.

Vision – Snow Storm/Cow. On October 13th I had a vision of what appeared to be a large brown mother cow in a snow storm. Later God gave me more understanding that it was a vision of a “destroyer.”

Thanksgiving Day Program and Buffet: November 28th Water of Life conducted a morning and evening Thanks- giving service with a buffet following the first service. The founding and purposes of God for America, our Mayflower and Rhode Island ancestors, and the early colonies were some of the subjects included in the two programs. Water of Life ministers of music ministered in song during each service which were streamed live on the internet and Roku.

Thanksgiving Day buffet, set up in the fellowship hall at Water of Life Church
Terre Brown and her family introduced the song, Looking For A City during our Thanksgiving program. About a month earlier, I had talked to Terre about the Chuck Wagon Gang. As a boy I listened to them; they were one of my favorite groups and they sang this song. I asked her if she thought the Browns could do this song—they do it well.

On January 15th I posted that Bob Carpenter had proved himself to be an apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Vernon P. Mai. Vernon Mai, Terry Mai’s earthly father and Candace, Ashley and Rachel’s grandfather and Shelby’s great-grandfather, went to heaven November 27th.

2013 brought increased persecution and affliction like I have never experienced. The revelation of Daniel 11 brought such pressure on my soul that I could no longer see to walk without guidance, it affected my sense of direction and at times it would seem like I had lost my ability to think. It was a frightening time, but I never stopped fighting, believing God would bring me through and He has, every time. -Doyle

Interpretation of Tongue - July 19th, 2009

Doyle Davidson (Tongue given by Kathy Mai) - July 19, 2009
Transcript of interpretation of tongue:

Stand fast and see the salvation of the Lord for great times of trouble are coming upon the earth and all that will look unto me, saith the Lord, shall see my salvation, all that trust in me I will cause them to rise above all the troubles that face the earth. Think not that I came to bring peace but I came to bring a sword and a sword will be placed between every person. Every person with the other will have a sword between them and my people will be prepared, they will be prepared because they will all learn to stand on their own feet with their own faith with my Son’s body within their body. Be strong and look into my salvation remember it is written in the word there is coming a time of troubles and they are here and they are going to increase so be strong and remember I am for you and not against you. I will show you my salvation when you call upon me in faith and believe in me I will honor you and satisfy you with long life.

Bob Buess

Following are a few notes about Bob Buess, the man who prophesied to Doyle at a Full Gospel Business Meeting in Denton, Texas, saying first to a preacher: "...you are spiritually impoverished and you are physically impoverished," then he looked at Doyle and said, "God has showed me this man has a great determination and God is going to use him for His purposes. Now I didn't see this because of his face, although he has a strong face, but this is what God is saying about this man."

“Bob Buess goes to heaven
Bob Buess, longtime mentor, spiritual advisor and friend to this ministry died on June 1 of this year [2008] leaving a legacy of faith and bulldog spiritual tenacity. An encounter with Bob Buess was a never to be forgotten experience. With a strong voice, he would bellow, “Praise God! Praise God! Praise God!” and set the atmosphere for fellowship. Bob was the author of many Christian books, including “Favor, the Road to Success” and “Laws of the Spirit” and was notable among Christian ministers for his prophetic gifts and boldness. Bob consistently challenged us in prayer and moving into a deeper dimension with God. His own life, particularly in the later years, consisted of many hours of deep intercession and worship. We thank God for his faithful friendship and spiritual insight.Lillian Buess, Bob’s lifelong partner in life and ministry, plans to continue to carry on the ministry.”

“Remembering Bob Buess
Anyone who knew Bob Buess knew he was a man who spent his life praying and praising God. Bob spent much time seeking God and interceding for God's children. He was known for saying, "Praise God! Praise God! Praise God!" Bob Buess accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at age 19. Soon after, he was called to preach the Gospel. In 1962, he received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. This experience ushered him into a realm of spiritual reality and power he had never known before. After this, he began to move in the gifts of the Spirit. Bob was known world wide as a prophet of God. He ministered in such places as Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Africa, Mexico, Canada, and nearly every state in the United States. During his time on this earth, he wrote several books which are available at our store. Bob is especially known for his message on Favor. Two of the books were never printed. We have made these books available as e-books.”

“FILLED BY THE SPIRIT
Bob Buess, pastor of the Christ of Life Church in Far North Dallas, prays for people’s teeth. By the end of one service, 17 church members had stood and declared that their molar problems were over. "God is filling your teeth," Buess says. "He is working miracles in your mouth."

Bob Buess wrote 2 books about the discipleship movement and below are two excerpts included in a research paper:

“A Research Paper by Don Vinzant and F.H. Martin, Both from Church of Christ

1974
Bob Buess, a charismatic pastor from East Texas, wrote in his book THE PENDULUM SWINGS, (self-published, 1974): "Some pastors and elders set themselves up as little 'Hitlers' over the flock…Some even go so far as to demand submission for you. You cannot make a decision for yourself…It is not as a Chinese writer (evidently, Buess refers to Watchman Nee - DV), states : 'Blanket obedience regardless of morals or righteousness, simply for obedience's sake…" (pp.11-13)

1975
In the book cited above, Buess dealt with several pressing matters in the charismatic world whereas in his book DISCIPLESHIP PRO AND CON (also self-published, 1975) he focuses on the discipleship/shepherding issue. "Being like Jesus is one thing, but to be like your shepherd may be completely different…A discipleship program must not make disciples unto men. The modern discipleship program often does that very thing…In neo-discipleship groups, there is absolute submission to the shepherd. Everyone is submitted in a regimented (army type) authoritarian chain of command."

Bob graduated from Baylor University, he was a Southern Baptist minister and after receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit, in newspaper announcements of his meetings , he was referred to as an evangelist and sometimes as a Baptist missionary.

Alms

Strong’s definition of ‘alms’: eleēmosýnē, el-eh-ay-mos-oo'-nay; from G1656; compassionateness, i.e. (as exercised towards the poor) beneficence, or (concretely) a benefaction:—alms(-deeds).

Luke 12:

[33] Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

Other instances of “bag”:

John 12:

[6] This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.

John 13:

[29] For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, Buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.

Acts 3 (KJV):

[2] And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

[3] Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

[4] And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.

[5] And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

[6] Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

Acts 3 (NIV):

[2] Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts.

[3] When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money.

[4] Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!”

[5] So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them.

[6] Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”

Thayer’s Greek Lexicon shows the use in Acts 10 for the word “alms” the same the 2nd definition in Strongs (the benefaction itself, a donation to the poor, alms).

Young’s definition: kindness, kind acts

Vines definition: 1. mercy, pity, particularly in giving alms 2. the benefaction itself, the alms (the effect for the cause)

1 Timothy 6:

[17] Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

[18] That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

[19] Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

Luke 6:

[34] And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.

[35] But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

[36] Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

[37] Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

[38] Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Strongs definition of lend:

daneízō, dan-ide'-zo; from G1156; to loan on interest; reflexively, to borrow:—borrow, lend.

Matthew 6:

[24] No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Luke 16:

[10] He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

[11] If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

[12] And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?

[13] No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

2 Corinthians 8:

[1] Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia;

[2] How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.

[3] For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;

[4] Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.

[5] And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.

[6] Insomuch that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also.

[7] Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.

[8] I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.

[9] For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

[10] And herein I give my advice: for this is expedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago.

[11] Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have.

[12] For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.

[13] For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened:

[14] But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality:

[15] As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack.

[16] But thanks be to God, which put the same earnest care into the heart of Titus for you.

[17] For indeed he accepted the exhortation; but being more forward, of his own accord he went unto you.

[18] And we have sent with him the brother, whose praise is in the gospel throughout all the churches;

[19] And not that only, but who was also chosen of the churches to travel with us with this grace, which is administered by us to the glory of the same Lord, and declaration of your ready mind:

[20] Avoiding this, that no man should blame us in this abundance which is administered by us:

[21] Providing for honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.

[22] And we have sent with them our brother, whom we have oftentimes proved diligent in many things, but now much more diligent, upon the great confidence which I have in you.

[23] Whether any do inquire of Titus, he is my partner and fellowhelper concerning you: or our brethren be inquired of, they are the messengers of the churches, and the glory of Christ.

[24] Wherefore shew ye to them, and before the churches, the proof of your love, and of our boasting on your behalf.

A Life Lived Wholly Unto God - Chapter 12: Water of Life Ministries

A Testament of the Grace of God on His Servant
by Kathryn Currier with Doyle Davidson

In April 1980, Doyle was driving down U.S. Highway 380, worshipping God and the Lord spoke and said, “Go to the city of Plano and speak to the people of Plano.” When he asked the Lord what He wanted him to say to them, the Lord told him to “Read the book of Acts where Paul was at Antioch and you will understand.”

Much resistance met him when he arrived in Plano. A group of people from the First Baptist Church in Plano had started a fellowship they called Faith Temple and this group initially asked Terry Mai to lead their worship and Doyle believed it was right. However, they didn’t like Terry and didn’t like the dollar amount he requested to lead worship. Soon after, they met Doyle and invited him to become their pastor. They had a number of pastors quit and it appeared to Doyle that a woman was making all the decisions, even appointing elders, saying God had shown her who He had chosen. After visiting with them he told them, “you don’t have a church.” The bible clearly states a church is established on the foundation of an apostle and prophet, Jesus Christ being the chief corner stone. He told them God had sent him to Plano and, “they were welcome to join him if they wanted.” They also informed him they wanted him, but they didn’t want Terry Mai. Doyle responded that Terry was with him and he came with the package. A number of this group joined Doyle’s ministry and were with him for many years, though none remain at Water of Life today.

Years later, a former member and elder of Faith Temple, who had attended Water of Life for years but left the ministry, made public statements that Doyle had “applied” to be their pastor and they accepted him, which was a false statement. Doyle already had his own ministry under the name Seed of Abraham Ministries and he wasn’t sent by any man or organization. The Lord had told him to come to Plano and speak to the people of Plano.

Water of Life Church of Plano, Incorporated was established and received its charter on November 24, 1980 and Doyle’s ministry went public. The board of trustees purchased a building from the Pitman Creek Church of Christ located at 1621 18th St., Plano, Texas in January 1981. He held his first service there on January 4, 1981. When they purchased the property, the Board of Trustees had agreed to pay $50,000 as a down payment, $50, 000 on January 1, 1982, $100,000 on January 1, 1983 and the remainder of the balance on January 1, 1984. When the first payment was due, they paid it. During the process of paying the note off on the church, there was much unbelief exposed in Doyle’s heart and God brought him to repentance. He retired the debt on the entire note on the building in 1985 and the ministry has been out of debt ever since. In June 1996 the Lord told him to stop taking up offerings by passing the plate and he installed a treasury box at the back of the sanctuary for people to give their offerings which remains today.

Affliction and Persecution for Righteousness Sake

**Originally Posted December 30, 2010**

This past week has been as vicious attack of the devil as I have encountered in a long time. Of course it was all afflictions for the word’s sake. I’m pretty used to this. This came because of my teaching on Jeremiah 8. God’s purpose is to heal his daughters. In these passages we see the men have only healed the daughters of Zion slightly. It tells us here because a man has rejected God’s word and is covetous he does not heal the daughters of Zion. Even the prophets and priests deal falsely. (See verses 9 thru 11).

Men that rejected God’s word brought affliction to the Apostle Paul, just as it has brought affliction into my life also. Paul writes about the persecutions and afflictions which came unto him at Antioch, Iconium and Lystra. These three cities were in the region of Galatia. It has become clear to me the region of Galatia is where he speaks about his eyes being hindered by men who had troubled him.

I have received great affliction and persecution from God’s people in cities such as Dallas, Fort Worth, Tulsa, Joplin, South Bend, Houston, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, Anaheim, twenty five years of television throughout the United States, ministering to Africa, speaking on short wave radio all over the world, on the internet for thirteen years, four years of live stream over the internet seven days a week. I am most grateful for the ministry that God has committed unto me. By the grace and mercy of God I’m beginning to overcome this. It took me five days to get healed up from this vicious attack of the devil, but I’m now on top of it. The last two days I have been overcoming some Native American spirits. God has most certainly sent me to the Native Americans with this gospel. I rejoice in the affliction and persecution, out of them all God has delivered me.

God bless,

The Barney Filarski Family of Sarcoxie, Missouri

When I was two till about five years of age my family lived about a half a mile from the Barney Filarski family. Barney was the father; Genevieve was his wife’s name. They had three daughters; Julie, Rosie, and Helen and ten boys; John, Eddie, Tony, Joe, Bill, Frank, Fred, Raymond, Clem, and Tommy; thirteen children in all.

Joe, Frank and Fred worked for my dad when I was a small boy. Both Joe and Frank fought in World War II. I remember Frank after he returned from the service would tell me, “Just because you are the boss’s son doesn’t mean you are not going to work! Get you a pick and shovel and wheelbarrow and get to work!”

Fred began working for my dad when I was about thirteen and was still working for him in 1956 when I returned from the Navy and joined them. He became a great friend to me. Fred and I loaded a long, large in diameter, butane tank in Jasper, Missouri to be shipped to another location. The tank weighed about 120 tons and used two cars to carry it. The tank set on one flatbed railroad car with two bolsters. The second car didn’t bear any weight but was needed for the length of the tank and turning purposes. That was the last job and last time I saw Fred Filarski.

At least two of the three girls helped my mother with housekeeping. I loved them all and they were great influences in my life. I expect to see them all in heaven.

The Military History of the Millers

Doyle's cousin, Malloy Miller, put together a booklet of his research into the Millers and some of their extended family members and their military service. Doyle is grateful this information was given to him and believes it is right to share some of it with the world. His mother, Alba Sara was a Miller and she told God that if he would give her a son, she would give him back to him. God caused her to do just that, as Doyle has shared on many occasions. The following is about her people.

Doyle's great-grandfather Newell Miller was born to William and Vashti (Green) Miller in Hartford Township, Ohio on July 28, 1842. On an 1880 Federal Census, William listed his occupation as farmer. William's father, George Miller served in the War of 1812. George's grandfather, Aaron Seekins was born in 1725 at Middleborough, Massachusetts. He served as a Private, under Captain Rounsewell's Co. of Minutemen, which marched on the alarm of April 19, 1775 for three days. He was also with Rounsewells Co., Col. David Brewer's 9 th Reg., three months, four days. He is listed in the Continental Army pay accounts for service from Jan. 8, 1777 to Dec. 15, 1777. His residence was listed as Freetown, term: three years. It is written he was taken prisoner and died Nov. or Dec. 15, 1777.

Newell's grandfather on his mother's side was Samuel Green, who was born about 1788. Samuel served in the war of 1812. Samuel married Sarah Jones and her father was Silas Jones. Samuel's father was also named Samuel and he was born April 10, 1751 in New York. According to family research, Samuel Sr. served twenty-four months, twenty days, in the Revolutionary War. He first enlisted on Jan. 18, 1776 for the term of one year. The commander of the company was Capt. Augustus Staunton and the regimental commander was Col. Henry Babcock. The regiment was organized at Newport, Rhode Island and remained there until the latter part of August. While at Newport a British ship of the line and some other smaller vessels entered the harbor. No British soldiers were landed. About Sept. 1, 1776, a new regiment was formed under Col. Lippet and they marched to Fort Washington on Manhattan Island. They were involved in fighting the British Army at White Plains. They then marched to Philadelphia, crossing the Delaware at Easton. Samuel recalled Washington crossing the Delaware (he was 76 when he completed this affidavit). Later, his regiment joined General Washington at Trenton. Around Jan. 2, 1777, they fought the British Army at Trenton and later attacked the British at Princeton and took about 700 prisoners. Samuel was discharged on Jan. 19, 1777 and in May 1778 he enlisted again with Col. Staunton's regiment and they remained at Tiverton, Rhode Island, guarding the coast until Mar. 20, 1779. He then joined for a month in a company commanded by Augustine Staunton. In 1781 or 1782 he served for a month as a substitute for a Quaker, who had been drafted and who "refused to serve on account of his religious scruples". This service was at Newport and later, he served for a month at East Greenwich, Rhode Island, guarding the coast. Samuel Green's name is listed on the monument honoring those who served in the Revolutionary War.

Newell's other great- grandfather, Silas Jones also served in the Revolutionary War. Our records show he was born in 1762 and if that date is correct, he was only 15 years old when he enlisted. He was a private in Capt. Warren's company, Col. Bailey's regiment of the Massachusetts Line. He enlisted June 10, 1777 for a term of three years. He was with General Gates' army at the capture of Burgoyne at Saratoga. His company spent the winter of 1777 at Valley Forge and he was with Lt. Muzzey when they stormed Stony Point under General Wayne. He was also in the Battle of Monmouth. He was listed as a Captain in his obituary so he undoubtedly had additional service after the Revolutionary War. He owned a considerable amount of land in Great Barrington and Tyringham, Massachusetts. He moved to Trumbull County, Ohio about 1815. Pelatiah Jones, also believed to be an ancestor, was killed in the Battle of Louisburg in 1745.*[1]

Doyle's great-grandfather, Newell Miller served in the Civil War. He enlisted with the Michigan 2 nd Cavalry Regiment, Unit B on October 2, 1861 at Danville, Michigan. His rate at enlistment was Private. He was promoted to a Full Corporal on January 6, 1864 and on June 13, 1865 he was promoted to Full Sergeant. He mustered out on August 17, 1865 at Macon, Georgia. Newell returned to Michigan and married Sara Louisa Paddock on May 19, 1867 in Ingram, Michigan. They had eight children, four of them born in Michigan.

Sara Louisa Paddock's great-grandfather on her mother's side was Abiathar Lincoln, Sr. He was born in Taunton, Massachusetts in 1759. He enlisted in the Revolutionary War July 10, 1776 which would have made him just seventeen years old at that time. He served in numerous regiments, at times guarding the coast, once on a secret expedition. He was with Brig. Gen. Godfrey's brigade when they marched from Taunton to Tiverton, Rhode Island on the alarm of Aug. 1, 1780.*[2] Sara's great-grandfather, John Paddock was born in 1765 in Nine Partners, Dutchess Co. He entered military service July 1781 as a private under Col. Marinus Willet. They marched from Kinderhook to Albany, then to Schnenectady and up the Mohawk River against the Indians. He was in the battle fought with the British and the Indians at the time British General Butler was killed. They then marched to German Flats and were four days without provisions. He was discharged at Fort Plain, January 1, 1782.

Abiathar Lincoln married Mary Babbitt. Her father was Nathan Babbitt (who was Sara Louisa's great-great grandfather), born in 1730. Nathan was a Minuteman*[3] in Norton, Massachusetts. He was a 1 st Lieut. in Captain John Cranes Co., 2nd Norton Train Band*[4] 1771. He was also on the Alarm List in 1757. Nathan was on the list of men mustered in Bristol. Co. by James Leonard, muster master. His service at Rhode Island was under col. John Daggett's Regt., June 29, 1778 for six months. Abiathar moved to Westmoreland, New Hampshire in 1786 and about 1809 he moved to Vermont. About 1837 he moved again, this time to Michigan, near Jackson where he is buried.

Nathan's great-grandfather, Edward Babbitt came to America probably around 1639 and family historians believe he came as a young boy. The earliest record of his name, Edward Bobet, is 1642, amongst a list of those between sixteen and sixty years of age, who were able to bear arms and because his name is not found in any other records up to that date, he must have been just barely sixteen at that time. His land purchases are recorded and he married Sara Tarne, in 1654. Edward was killed during the Indian uprising, known as the King Phillip's War, June 1675. Family history passed down through generations gives the account that after the family had found refuge in the fort, Edward returned to his home for a necessary item, taking his dog with him to warn him of Indians. On the way back to the Fort, he was pursued by Indians and climbed a tree to hide, however his dog disclosed his presence and he was killed. When he didn't return, a search party found him and it is presumed they buried him at that spot. The stone that marked the spot has been replaced and the original is now in Historical Hall. One of Edward's sons, also named Edward (and Nathan's grandfather) was a member of the Train Band of Taunton and family tradition relates that on one training day, there appeared among the spectators one of the Indians who had killed Edward Bobet. This Indian boasted of this fact to Edward Bobet, Jr., who at a later date avenged his father's death.*[5]. Edward Jr. married Abagail Tisdale and her father John Tisdale was killed by the Indians the day after Edward Bobet was killed according to "The Babbitt Family History".

Doyle's grandparents were Frank and Minnie (Virkler) Miller. Newell and Sara moved to Missouri sometime after 1878 and Frank was born there about 1883. Frank had a brother, James, who became a minister. Doyle remembers him as being of Disciples of Christ, but others speak of him as a Baptist. James' son, Paul Miller became an internationally known journalist. His first job with the Associated Press was in 1932 and he became chief of the Washington Bureau in 1945. He joined Frank Gannet's corporation, Gannett Co. in 1947 and was elected President of the company from 1957 to 1978. He was chairman and president of the Associated Press from 1963 to 1977. At Oklahoma State University, Paul Miller's School of Journalism and Broadcasting is located in the Paul Miller Building. Paul is quoted as saying , "Our actions must be determined not by mere compliance with state or federal law, not by public attitudes, but on the basis of doing the right thing." Doyle remembers as a young boy, staying with his grandparents and his Uncle James would come to visit. His grandmother would let him sit with them while they talked and he remembers them discussing politics. He has shared how his grandfather hated socialism and he wasn't afraid to make his feelings known.

Doyle's ancestors fought in nearly every war since King Phillip's War. It is obvious they were soldiers, willing to fight for life and liberty; some of them mere boys when they enlisted. God has given him the same kind of heart, though he is fighting a different war.

II Cor 10:

3 "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds;)

5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

6 And having in readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled."

[2] At the outset of the Revolutionary War, the thirteen colonies lacked a professional army and navy. Each colony provided for its own defenses through the use of local militia. Militiamen were lightly armed, slightly trained, and usually did not have uniforms. Their units served for only a few weeks or months at a time and would return to their farms between enlistments.

[3]Minutemen were members of teams of select men from the American colonial militia during the American Revolutionary War. They provided a highly mobile, rapidly deployed force that allowed the colonies to respond immediately to threats of fellow soldiers in the war (hence the name). The Minutemen were among the first people to fight in the American Revolution. These teams constituted about a quarter of the entire militia, and generally were the younger and more mobile, serving as part of a network for early response.(Wikipedia)

[4] The earliest and most important branch of the Colonial militia was an infantry company known as the train or training band. At first, all men liable for military service were formed into the town train band. They were required to have a musket, bandoleers, two pounds of powder and 120 bullets. Bands usually consisted of 64 men. Large towns had several bands. Members were fined for unexcused absences.
