In 1979 I was a lay speaker in the First United Methodist Church of McKinney, Texas. I was sent to another Methodist Church in Sherman/Denison Texas, to speak on a Sunday morning. I spoke an hour in the morning, then the 11:00 service after Sunday School. I taught from Psalm 22, how Jesus went to hell and rose again. There was a man in the choir that was very attentive as I spoke. After I was through speaking I greeted the folks of the choir and congregation. This
particular man walked up to me and said, “Young man, you have a message
from God and don’t let these pseudo intellectuals talk you out of it”
and he walked away. I called after him, “Come here. What is your name?” He replied back, “That is not important.” I answered, “It is to me!” He came back to me, gave me his name and said, “I am a graduate of Perkins Theological Seminary, Dallas, Texas. I have been preaching what you taught today for more than 30 years and they have not received it.” God
had just days before told me that America would not hear me because it
would not hear him. God confirmed with that Perkins graduate what He had
told me a few days before.
God bless,
