This horse, CH Hail to Genius, represents the
lifestyle I had until January 2, 1970, the day I sold my equine practice
and veterinary hospital, 121Veterinary Hospital. I transferred
ownership of Hail to Genius that same month and that was the beginning
of God divesting me of all my holdings. I will not say it was easy, it
was hard. But I grew up in church and I knew what Jesus said about the
rich man in Luke 12:
15) And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. 16) And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: 17) And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? 18) And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. 9) And I wll say to my soul, Soul, thou has much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. 20) But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? 21) So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God. I knew these verses and my Dad had told me when I was young, that God had taken him down to hell three times, showed him the flames, and people in the flames, and he told me it caused him to fear God. I really didn’t care to have Dad talk to me about that, it made me nervous. I was thirty seven when God said, “Sell out and obey me”. I absolutely knew I would die like that rich man, if I did not obey God. That had a great impact on the decisions I made. God required me to lay everything down, not only my wealth and possessions, but my family, my friends and the lifestyle that I lived. Today, my house, my car and my SUV are my only possessions. God has brought me to Philippians 3: 7) But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ 8) Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ… This is what God required of me. Consider what I say and let God give you understanding. Have a prosperous journey. God Bless, Doyle Davidson Servant and Apostle of the Lord Jesus |
