We Have the Mind of Christ

 Galatians 5:17 
 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 

 That’s an incredible statement you know that? [Paul:Yes it is.] 

 I remember back in the 1970’s when I was in the wilderness, led there by the Spirit of God, Argyle, Texas…Argyle is not a wilderness, but my wilderness was there. Nothing was working right and I recall how God showed me that verse and that flesh, our flesh, our will, intellect and emotions being the soul, 

1 Peter 1:22 
 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit 

Luke 21:19
 In your patience possess ye your souls. 

 I saw that the spirit and the flesh were in a war, mine, within my own body and that the flesh lusted against my spirit man, as they call it, spiritual man, boy we are going to go back to spiritual men? but maybe God wants us to go there. But the spiritual man, that which is joined to the Lord, is one spirit and anointed by the Holy Ghost, and that’s when you speak in tongues, amen, glory, but God was showing me my war was within my own soul, wrestling against my spirit-man which is where my faith works. And I thought "Geeminee!" (I know that upsets you religionists) "Can this be so, that your flesh lusts against your spirit and one is contrary to the other, better put, the flesh is contrary to the spirit-man?" 

God showed me you will have to, with your faith, take possession of your soul. And it was like a teeter-totter, like scales, one minute the flesh was up here, the next minute it’s down here and the spirit was up here, just back and forth. 

 Oh but one day, I could see for the most part, I was in the spirit, I was one happy man. Now that’s when God started showing me 1 Corinthians 2, let’s read that chapter again. Glory! This is getting fun again! 

1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. 
2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 
3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. 
4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: 
5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. 
6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: 
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 
13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 
15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 
16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ. 

Now this was the 1970s and God was revealing those very scriptures to me. I was a veterinarian, I was, that was how I made a living and God started showing me, 

Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither entered into the heart of man, what God hath prepared for them that love him. But verily God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: 

Now about that time, if I recall, (it’s been years it seems like) that Kenneth Hagin maybe, began talking about the revealed word of God, logos and rhema. I haven’t studied this in thirty years, I’ve been at war, but the revealed word and the letter, or the written, but only the revealed word, works.

Rhema, that’s what Hagin named his bible college, Rhema Bible College. Do you know his first class was in 1974 and my friened Sam Whaley was in the first graduating class of Rhema? 

Rhema, that was all Hagin was talking about in those days, rhema, well he was right, but can you imagine, in 1974 when the first class of Rhema Bible Training School (Now all you Rhema people, straighten me out) but you know that was the year God anointed me in Jerusalem at the Garden Tomb, on a Sunday morning, June 17, 1974 and God was teaching me all this right there. 

9 Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 

 I’m in such a war and I can understand why now, because this my friends is where you will walk in these last days, in the revealed word of God, not between your ears. Hallelujah! 

Now notice the mind of Christ comes from what? Eye hath not seen, ear hath not heard, neither entered into the heart but it’s been revealed by the Spirit. 

Oh what a glorious day! Now friends I’ve walked this way for years. I wouldn’t be where I’m at if I hadn’t walked this way in the revealed word of God not the letter. I walk among people that walk in the letter and my warfare is against their soul, the letter of the word, but I’m gaining the victory over them. 

Now go on and read from “eye hath not seen” on down to “the mind of Christ.”

Now Hagin actually had it right about the rhema, that’s all he was talking about, was rhema, he had that right, but only problem is, he walked in the flesh. Now I know I just upset every Hagin worshipper in the world. But I’m an apostle and prophet of Jesus Christ and I’m not impressed by any man, not one, no man. 

 So here I am, but God showed me these scriptures, revealed them to me. Most preachers, all preachers I know, preach the letter, they preach a vision of their heart, they preach from their own spirit, Ezekiel 13. 

Look friends I’ve been through war over all this, war, but I’m gaining ground getting on top of those that walk with me that walk in the flesh and not the revealed word of God, but you’re coming to the revealed. 

Oh yes, you see God started this ministry January 1980, called Seed of Abraham Ministries and then changed the name in November, also called Water of Life Church of Plano, Inc. I was here in Plano, bought this building, closed on it, and had our first service January 4, 1981. 

I got out of the wilderness in and went back to McKinney in 1977, and my money started coming again. In the flesh I did very well, in the Spirit I did very poorly but I had to overcome my soul, overcome my flesh, and it took me seven years to get it done. Oh what a glorious day. Read on my website, about Luke 6:38, June 1977, giving money to the First United Methodist Church of McKinney, Texas, one hundred bucks, Oh what a great day, I had money again. 

In 1977 I returned to McKinney where 121 Veterinary Hospital and practice was established, built, sold. 

1978 I was a lay speaker, certified by the North Texas Conference United Methodist churches. 

In 1979 Terry Mai married my daughter, Kathy Davidson. 

In 1980 I came to Plano—I closed my veterinary practice in 1982, but I did consulting work until 1986. Thank God. Glory! Thank God! Hallelujah! 

1980 or 1981 I was still practicing and I gave every penny back to this church that was given to me by salary and gave more than that. That was the first time that I was on salary except one nine month period in my life; most of the time I worked for myself, except when I was a kid. 

I had a horse that they rode in a horse show and the rider weighed 400 pounds and he rode that horse, he rode him into destruction. The horse was in such stress that he developed much scar tissue in his muscles—much, and he wouldn’t get well and he couldn’t, and he wouldn’t die. God arranged all of this. So I put the horse down at the direction of an insurance company out of California but they were trying to trap me. 

I’ll never forget them, I forgave them, but I won’t forget them. I got an insurance man in Los Angeles so upset at me and he said, “How come you are handling this case and not an attorney?”

I said, “Because I know more about this case than any lawyer you can find.” (You say that was arrogant, sure was, but it was truth and also faith. You think it’s arrogant, too bad.) 

I finally said to him, “Have you ever seen a horse?” 

They were trying to set me up and sue me, so they required that I do an antemortem prior to death on what you would expect to find postmortem. 

So I did. It took me a day or two. And the Lord said, “I’ve got confidence in your opinion.” I said, “You’ve what?” Three times Jesus said, “I’ve got confidence in your opinion.” 

So I wrote the antemortem report—shaking. I got the post mortem, I did the post; sent it to a laboratory in Dallas, got the report back, one page typed, single-line typing, received back the shorter report, one page, and what I said on the antemortem report corresponded to the postmortem report laboratory analysis, except one thing—fatty vacuolization of the liver, and you find that with every debilitating disease in a horse on postmortem. 

Well I had a good friend—lost him, he got upset at me—he was an osteopathic physician and was a great friend and actually had some spiritual understanding. I loved the guy. I could tell you a sick story but I won’t, but it cost him a bunch…not that he did…yes he disobeyed God. He came down to Water of Life in 1982 (I just got this together a few days ago) and I told him about this and he said to me, “You know why you could do that?” 

“No, why?” 
“You have the mind of Christ,” he said. 

Back in those days everybody had the mind of Christ; yes, of course they did. No they didn’t and they don’t today. 

This my friends, is the way you get the mind of Christ, and then the words that you speak will be the mind of Christ and yes, we’re going to have some fun in these days watching a bunch of you get out of your head and get in your heart.
