I have shared this testimony numerous times, but as far as we remember, it hasn’t been posted in written form.
When God was teaching me, I began reading these verses in Matthew 10:
5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
Jesus spoke these words to the original twelve disciples. That included Judas. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers; cast out devils. Oh, that would empty your sanctuary if you ever started casting devils out.
I met Derek Prince and I got to know him when I lived in Florida in 1971. He and Lydia became good friends of me and Patti. I moved back to Texas in 1972 at the direction of the Lord and I was at Christ for the Nations, probably August 1973 and Derek was speaking. I was taking him and Lydia out for a meal afterwards and I walked over to where he was at and there stood a young lady about 20 to 22 years of age holding a four-ply napkin with all of her sins written on it, and talking to Derek. That was before discipleship and Derek and I were good friends in those days. He said to the lady, "Give that napkin to that guy right there and he will take care of you,” and pointed to me. As I stood there looking at her list of sins, I gave her my business card and told her, “If you need help call me tomorrow at 6:00 PM.” I never expected to see her again. However, God had another plan, Doyle Davidson veterinarian’s introduction to devils.
This woman called me at about 3:00 in the morning. She'd cry and say, "Oh, you live in a house that has a long lane. It’s got a wooden fence on the side. And you've got big plate glass windows in front, two of them." Then she would cry and I would try to get her quiet. You see, I didn't know what this was. I tried to get her quiet because I had already told her if she came to my house at 6:00, my wife and I would pray for her. So she calls me at 3:00 in the morning. She's all emotional, excited, really going wild and I couldn't get her quiet. But Patti, who'd been with me since 1952 when God told me to marry her in San Diego, California--she could be bold. She could tell you to, "Shut up!" I was more politically correct than her, although not for long. Patti said to her, "Shut up and listen to him!" The devil shut up.
She came at 4:30 that next afternoon and brought someone with her. I sat a chair in the middle of my den, and I put her in it and I started praying. She slumped over like she was asleep. I was a gentleman. I said quietly, "Ma'am, wake up. Ma'am, wake up." Then I yelled, "Wake up in Jesus name!" That worked. That day I ceased to be nice. I walked around to her side and she was tearing a napkin. I said, "What are you doing?"
She said, "Nothing."
I said, "Oh yes you are."
She said, "No I'm not."
"Yes you are." I said, "Don't think for one minute that you can do to me what you're doing to that napkin."
Now I am stunned. I am a stunned, forty-one year-old veterinarian.
And she said, "I have the ability to go in to the body of a human being and make it do what I want it to do."
She weighs about 105 pounds and she tells me she can go into a human body; I’m thinking, “Well maybe an elephant.” You see, I didn't know I was talking to a devil.
I said, "Well, you cannot do that to me. You cannot hurt me, my wife, my daughter, our poodles, or our horses."
Oh was she mean, and oh did I grow up! She had brought a lady with her and while I'm praying this spirit in this woman that I put on the couch yelled out, "I’ve stood all this I can stand!" I turned and I was going to say, "What can you not stand any more of?" Instead I said, "Come out you witchcraft spirit in Jesus name!" Guess what? My ministry is launched. I didn't know that devils would talk to you. Nobody told me. But I knew that was not possible, what she said. I thought, "That must be a demon."
After I cast the devil out of her friend, I asked this woman what her religious background was and she told me she was Assemblies of God. According to her, her pastor was a PhD in Dallas. She told me her mother wouldn’t let her wear make-up or smoke so she would hide her makeup and her cigarettes and at night she would put on her makeup, crawl out the window, find her cigarettes and go to town. I told her I had done all I could for her for that night. That was the last time I ever saw her.
God launched me into this kind of work when I had no experience, except I had seen another minister cast devils out. Since that time, I have learned a lot about casting out devils.
God Bless,
