January 1980, God led me to get a charter for a ministry and we applied for a charter for Seed of Abraham Ministries. At that same time I scheduled a meeting at North Texas University, in the student union Silver Eagle B room. Wally Edge was on staff at Texas Woman's University and arranged for the room and Jim Horton an attorney, was doing the charter work for me. We scheduled the meetings for a Friday and Saturday. The morning we went to Denton for the meeting, we received the charter for Seed of Abraham Ministries in the mail. I believed God was leading me to start my own ministry, and that encouraged me that I was on the right track. That morning Wally Edge was sick and couldn’t come. I was told later he was too sick to come to the 1:00 PM meeting and I said, “Oh, he’ll come”. I went to his house, taking Terry and Kathy Mai with me, and as he was laying there I said, “Get up, lets’ go to this meeting! Be healed, in the name of Jesus.” The power of God hit him, set him free and he got up and came to the meeting.
In February I received a phone call from a veterinarian in Plano. He told me Rodney Butler, my former partner, had gone through a divorce and 121 Veterinary Hospital was in receivership. Judge Ryan told this veterinarian to contact me and offer me the opportunity to buy it back. The judge said he would take a certain amount for the property, if that was too high, he listed another amount and if that was too high, I was to make him an offer and he would take it.
For three days I wrestled with the decision. I certainly considered taking it because I knew what I could do with it. I knew what I did with it before and I knew I could make it work, but I didn’t know what God wanted. God would say to me, “Do you want it?” After three days, I said, “Wait a minute, it’s not what I want, what do you want? After all it’s not about what I want, it’s what you want. You are the one who told me to sell it.” Finally, God said, “I don’t want you to have it.” I couldn’t believe God would do me that way. I thought to myself, “You ask me if I want this and you didn’t want me to have it. What if I had blown it?” Well God knew me, he knew what I would do. John 2 says:
“24) But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,
25) And needed not that any man should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.”
In April, I was on my way to Justin, Texas to treat some horses with a man I knew well. I was in Lincoln Park which was in Denton County. They had only sixteen trailer houses and they had incorporated it so they could sell liquor there. And it was there of all places, God spoke to me and said, “Go to Plano and speak to the people of Plano.” And later the devil tried to convince me that God wouldn’t talk to me in a place like that, “That was the devil that told you to go speak to Plano. Here you are in a town incorporated to sell booze and you think God told you to go speak to the people at Plano?”
Well God did tell me to go speak to the people of Plano. I said to God, “Well what do you want me to tell them?” He said, “Read the book of Acts where the apostle Paul went to Antioch and you will understand.” I did and I understood according to Acts 11 and 13.
During that time I was doing a meeting every month at North Texas, January through May and by May the weather was starting to get hot. We met in a hall for the May meeting that also housed students. I spoke that night on Jesus on the cross and I have never heard more demons scream at any meeting I have ever done. They were screaming everywhere. The devil hates the preaching of the cross. He hates the gospel and hates the fact that Jesus was put on the cross because the cross is where Jesus gained the victory over the devil. I am not talking about the two wooden sticks; the cross is the gospel and the gospel is the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus and they are one and the same.
1 Corinthians 1:
17) Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
18) For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
The preaching of the cross is salvation. The devil laughs if you just preach the bible, but if you have a revelation of the cross and the gospel and preach it by the Spirit, he will hate you.
I believed it was right to do a meeting in McKinney, Texas in June. I knew the Superintendent of Schools in the McKinney school district and when asked, he refused to let me have a meeting in the school, yet Baha’i meetings were allowed there. That superintendent died within a year. He resisted the gospel and tried to stop it from being preached. I had the meeting in Allen at Boyd Middle School and invited a friend of mine who was a horseman. He came and told me after the meeting that he was going to invite every horse person he knew because they needed to hear this message. The next Saturday night he was there but no other horseman, not one. I taught on the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the power of God rested on him for a solid hour and God shook that man the entire hour. He left that night, not saying one word to me.
About a week later, I went out to look at a horse stabled in his barn and his wife asked me to come in to the house, she would like to talk to me. She said, “I know people can’t offend you by what they say”, and she was right. I would not let what people did or said offend me because it took my peace from me. I didn’t let people have that kind of control over me. She went on to tell me that her husband thought I was involved in witchcraft. She brought out writings of Gene Getz and after looking at it, I showed her how the man contradicted himself. A few days after we had talked, they went up to Lake Texoma, her husband went out on his boat, fell out and drowned and they didn’t find him for three days. People need to understand it is a foolish thing to come against the gospel and it’s a foolish thing to try to destroy America.
Now it’s into June and it is beginning to get hot. Jimmy Carter was president and by administering his economic policies, he had driven interest rates up to 18-21%. When I was in Argyle, God taught me through the prophet Daniel, to seek understanding. I saw that the people thought that they had elected a good Christian man in Jimmy Carter but instead his policies were trying to destroy America. I knew God had showed me to pray him out of office and I continued to pray. The weather was hot, very hot! A big high was settled over us, I would pray, that high would split, half would go one way, the other half would go the other way and the next day it would gather over the top of us again.
I kept praying—God was sending me to Plano and August 1st I arrived in Plano and started Water of Life Church of Plano, Inc. I ran into every spirit one could imagine. God later told me in July 1981 that Jezebel ruled the city. The control that spirit had over the city was incredible. God told me he was putting Terry in another fellowship and a group of people with a church, called Faith Temple, asked Terry and Kathy to come minister in song. Later this group asked me to pastor their church. I told them they didn’t have a church. God had sent me to Plano, my ministry was from God and I told them if they wanted to join me they could. They said they would take me, but they didn’t want Terry. Well, most of you know how I responded to that. “Terry is with me, and if you get me, you get Terry.” They really didn’t want me either, “but there wasn’t anyone else,” they said. They resisted every step I took and tried to divide Terry and I from the outset. Those spirits continue to resist the purposes of God today.
During that time, I invited them all to come to my house in Fairview for a meal. At that time, Fairview was on a restricted watering schedule and I had recently planted new trees that I had arranged to be brought in. I would make sure all the hoses were layed out and ready and when it was our day to water Patti would leave the office to turn the water on. Our watering schedule was on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 to 2:00 and by 12:00 or 12:15 AM there was no more water. Our yard became so dry that cracks nearly three inches wide opened up in the ground. They were whispering among themselves that night, “Why doesn’t he water his yard?”
I didn’t know that the weather was associated with the politics of Washington. It seemed to be—but I didn’t have a great deal of experience as a prophet at that time. 1980 brought record high temperatures in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area. There were 69 days above 100 degrees which included a record 42 consecutive days from June 23 to August 3. Dallas-Fort Worth reached an all-time high when the temperature hit 113 degrees for three consecutive days, June 26th through June 28th. Seymour, Texas reached 119 degrees which was a record for Texas at the time and still the second-highest temperature ever recorded in the state.
I just continued to pray and the day Jimmy Carter lost to Ronald Reagan, November 1980, a cold front came across the nation and broke that hot weather and it cooled down.
We have the same situation going on in America today. A man in the White House, put there by people and not by God, with economic policies that would destroy America and weather that is much like 1980. And just as the Faith Temple group stood against me in 1980, there is a group of people today who resist everything the Spirit of God leads me to do. An ignorant woman and her attorney have filed a frivolous lawsuit against me, are determined to destroy me and my ministry. Former congregants of Water of Life founded a blog to vent their resentment and they think they do God a service. The spirits they walk in have one desire and that is to stop the purposes of God. It cannot happen, God makes His servants stand. I have a large group of people with me today, and we rule in Washington through Jesus Christ. God is bringing Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri together once a month to meet in Muskogee, Oklahoma. We are, by the Spirit of God, overcoming and changing the direction of this government through praise and worship.
God will not suffer his anointed to be wronged, 1 Chronicles 16:
21) He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes,
22) Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.
“Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ…” 2 Corinthians 14
